Carson Alexander scored a game high 27 points, 12 in the 3rd quarter to lead his Lab Techs to victory against a formidable Police Force team last night.
After a slow 1st quarter, behind 12-15 to the Lab Techs, the Police Force took the lead early in the 2nd and held on until half time. Kurlinus Augustin (9 points) and Callious Dantes (7 points) led the scoring for the Police in the 1st half.
It was in the 3rd quarter that the Lab Techs came on really strong, attacking the rim and exploiting poor coverage in the short corner. Then when the Police constricted their zone to prevent penetration, there was Carson Alexander and Tim Baptiste launching long range bombs for 3 points. In the 3rd the Lab Techs outscored the Police 28-16, Carson Alexander leading the onslaught with 12 points including 3 treys.
It was an all out attack by the Lab Techs, which the Police weathered well in the 4th quarter but couldn't seem to pull out of the deficit they had incurred in the 3rd. Police scoring contributor Callious Dantes fouled out midway in the 4th, and still with Kurlinus Augustin and Erwin Tertullien combining for 18 points in the last quarter, it wasn't enough to overcome the Lab Techs.
