The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary Schools Under 15 Cricket Tournament continued on Monday at the Dennery Playing Field with a play off match between Castries Comprehensive and Micoud Secondary to decide the fourth semifinal spot. At the end, it was Micoud Secondary winning a very exciting match. The scores were tied at the completion of each inning so a super over was bowled to determine the result, with Micoud Secondary emerging winners by 7 runs.
Castries Comprehensive batting first, made 115 for 5 in their allotted 15 overs with Shervin Lubrin contributing 25, Shakim Edgar 21 not out and Dequane Vite 19. Bowling for Micoud Secondary, there was 1 wicket each for Dillon Fanis, Garvin Serieux, Molice Lubrin and Atley Clovis.
In reply, Micoud Secondary was dismissed in the final ball of their inning for 115 with Garvin Serieux top scoring with 43 and Nesta Daniel making 27 not out. Bowling for Castries Comprehensive, Shakim Scott 3 for 13 in 5 overs and Dominic Auguste 2 for 22 in 5 overs.
Micoud Secondary batting first in the super over made 9 for 1. Castries Comprehensive in reply, was restricted to 2 for 1 in their super over.
The Semifinal matches will take place on Tuesday at the Dennery Playing Field. In the first match from 9:30 am, St. Mary's College clashes with Choiseul Secondary and at 1:30pm SDA Academy battles Micoud Secondary.
