Participants of this year’s Blackheart Knock-out Football tournament were rewarded for their efforts. The prize giving and awards ceremony took place last evening at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds.

Gros-Islet collected the top prize of 16,500, Babonneau 9,250, third place Mabouya $5,500 dollars while fourth placed Roseau Valley collected $2,950.

All the other teams collected their appearance fees as well as money for goals scored and transportation allowance.    

A number of individual awards were also presented on the night:

  • Most outstanding young player:  16 year old Otev Lawrence of Gros Islet
  • Best Manager: Anthony Evans of Gros Islet
  • Best Coach: Francis Lastic of Gros Islet
  • Fastest Goal scored:  Winel Felix of Dennery in the 2nd minute of their match vs Laborie.
  • Best Dressed team: Mabouya Valley
  • Most Spectacular goal: Elam Joseph of Gros Islet 
  • Best Goal Keeper: Giovanni Deterville of Gros Islet who conceded 1 goal in 4 matches.
  • Best Defense player: 16 year old Otev Lawrence of Gros Islet
  • Best midfield player: Elam Joseph of Gros Islet
  • Top goal scorer: Wayne Theodule of Mabouya Valley, Eden Charles of Gros Islet and Kerwin Brouet of Marchand.
  • Fair play trophy: Dennery.

Gros Islet captain Vard Daniel received a special award for his outstanding leadership qualities and discipline shown in leading his team to championship success.
