Goals from Troy Greenidge in the 37th minute and Eden Charles in the 71st gave the 2013 Black Heart Champions, Gros Islet, a two nil victory over La Clery as the SLFA Super League got underway yesterday at the Mindoo Phillip Park.

Gros Islet,  Cheered on by their number one fan, Parliamentary Rep Hon Emma Hippolyte, were not the dominating force which swept the recently concluded Black Hert Championship and were vulnerable at times but bad decisions in two on one scoring opportunities left La Clery goalless in a match where neither team kept possession for any significant length of time.

The other Black Heart Finalist, Babonneau, played some entertaining quality football and seemed vengeful from very early. It took only 5 minutes for Triston Pierre to register the opening goal for Babonneau who squandered several golden opportunities to increase their lead.

They dominated posession throughout and the lads from Castries South never seemed capable of mustering a serious challenge. Surprisingly the game ended in just a 1-nil win for Babonneau.
