Soufriere advance into the Semi Finals of the St Lucia National Cricket Association Premiere League having completed an outright victory against Gros Islet this past weekend at the Piaye Playing Field.
Batting first Gros Islet was bowled out for a disappointing 86 in 47 overs with Kurt Edward making 23. Bowling for Soufriere, Gregor Mitchell 4 for 65.
Soufriere replied with 199 all out in 49.3 overs with Bradley Tisson leading the way with 74 not out, Kiether Prospare 45 and Denver Didier 36. Bowling for Gros Islet Dwight Thomas 3 for 51 and Selwin Boyce 2 for 37.
With a deficit of 83 Gros Islet batted aggressively to force a come from behind victory but lost wickets in the process and were dismissed for 166 in 32 overs setting Soufriere a victory target of 54.
Vidal Crandon top scored for Gros Islet with an attacking knock of 82 and was supported by Kurt Edward with 28.
Soufriere then matched on the victory reaching 54 for 2 in 12 overs with Tenassee Hippolyte contributing 21. Selwin Boyce was the wicket taker for Gros Islet finishing with figures of 2 for 19.
The semifinals are carded for this weekend:
South Castries v Choiseul, while Soufriere plays Central Castries.
