The Jamaica Cricket Association members and affiliates voted 67-22 on Tuesday to support Jamaican incumbent  Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron for the presidency of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).

On February 3, the JCA board of directors had voted 10-6 to back cricket legend Joel Garner, leading to a split across the association after some members became disgruntled.

During Tuesday’s JCA annual general meeting at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, Cameron was overwhelmingly backed by the wider membership when the issue was voted on.

The WICB’s AGM and election for president are slated for March 7 in Jamaica.
The two members to vote for Jamaica at the elections will be JCA second vice-president Osman Dann and secretary Fritz Harris.
Cameron is seeking a second two-year term as head of the WICB.
