Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 40 year old, Howard Gibson of Hibiscus Lane, Entrepot, Castries.

The body of Gibson was recovered off the coast of Vigie Beach, Castries by officers attached to the Marine Unit.

A young male has died as a result of a shooting in Blackstars, Morne Du Don, Castries Thursday night at around 9 p.m.

The deceased, known as Curtis Charlery, formerly of the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School.

The information which emanated from the Police Press Office this week outlining the procedure for failing to immediately produce drivers licenses and registration documents upon request, created a stir among motorists who have been expressing their views on what is being described as a harsh piece of legislation.

Public Servant Confirms Receipt of Letter from PSC after Stating her Intention to Contest the UWP Gros Islet Seat

Saint Lucia's Team Returns Home with 20 Medals after Special Olympics World Games
Saint Lucia's team returned home from the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, California, USA on Wednesday, August 5, after what has been described as the best performance ever at that event.

The group won 20 medals including two team gold medals, three individual gold, a team silver, 11 individual silver, and three individual bronze medals.

Gros Islet Family Continues Search for Missing Member
One family of Gros Islet continues a desperate search for one of their own who has been reported missing for the past two weeks.

The 61-year-old woman identified as Lucia Mc Phee, better known as Lyn, originally from Gros Islet but resided in Paix, Babonneau with her husband, Elwyn Joseph Lurice.

Police have confirmed that a male motorcyclist, who was seriously injured in an accident in Balata this morning, is dead.

Reports are that the motorcycle collided with a sports utility vehicle (SUV) near a gas station in the community at about 9 a.m.

New Executive for St. Lucia Association of Professional Photographers
A new executive was elected last Sunday afternoon to manage the affairs of the St. Lucia Association of Professional Photographers (SLAPP).

The elections were held at the UWI Campus on Morne Fortune where close to 30 photographers turned up to discuss the way forward for the photography industry.

Local Bar Association Address Serious Concerns in Letter to Minister of Legal Affairs
St Lucia’s Minister for Legal Affairs is being called out by the local Bar Association to address serious concerns which have been articulated in a letter to him.

In a second correspondence to Senator Victor La Corbinierre which has been signed by Bar Association President Mary Juliana Charles the Association reiterates its concerns about the situation which is currently plaguing the operations of the Court.

42 Officers Attain Promotions at RSLPF Promotions Ceremony
A total of 42 Officers attained promotions when the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force conducted its latest Promotions Ceremony on Sunday, August 3. ; 27 were promoted from constable to corporal, 11 from corporal to sergeant, and four from sergeant to inspector.
 
The ceremony, held at the Derek Walcott Square, followed a mass at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and a parade through the streets of Castries.

On Saturday, August 1, 2015 officers attached to the Dennery Police Station received a report of a body lying motionless on the Errad Road in Dennery.
