15 Coaches Deployed to Schools Around the Island in 2016
The Department of Youth and Sports in the Ministry of Education has come in for high praise following news that a total of fifteen new coaches will hired and deployed to schools around the island in 2016.

The commendation comes from veteran sports broadcaster Joseph Reds Pirerra who believes that the move will not only assist with the development  of youngsters in sporting disciplines like football and track and field, but will serve as a training ground for further advancement of young St Lucians beyond their school life.

Local Artiste Advance to Semi Finals of the International Soca Monarch in Trinidad
After having only recently departed for an intense Trinidad Carnival season and ‘Allez’ Tour, Teddyson John (TJ) continues to soar as he advances to the Semi Finals of the International Soca Monarch in Trinidad

Medical Officials Caution Against Using Marijuana Mixed with Tobacco in Young Adults
Medical officials at Victoria Hospital are strongly urging against the use of marijuana mixed with tobacco due to the devastating consequences particularly on young adults.

The caution comes from Consultant at the Accident and Emergency Department at Victoria Hospital Dr Lissa Charles who has observed what she says is a steady increase in the number of cases seen at the health institution over that past decade.

 CSA Insurance Coordinator Reinstated
The reinstatement of the Insurance Coordinator at the CSA is being seen as a landmark victory on behalf of workers here.

Ms Philomen Darius who was dismissed last year on the grounds that she had reached the retirement age, as well as what the management of the CSA deemed was part of a restructuring process, is now back at work.

Police News

The autopsy was conducted on, Monday, January 4, 2016 on the body of Joseph Herman of Capitol Hill, Castries.

It revealed that Herman died as a result of respiratory failure and hemorrhagic shock, secondary to multiple stab wounds to the chest.

A post mortem has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 5, 2016 on the body of a woman who has been registered as the last road fatality for 2015.
