The Public Relations office of the Royal St Lucia Police Force has denied suggestions that Commissioner Vernon Francois has been sent on leave.

The claim has raised suspicion in certain quarters, as it comes just one week ahead of a scheduled address to the Nation to be delivered by Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony, on March 8th, when he will disclose the findings of the IMPACS report, which was compiled following investigations into allegations of extrajudicial killings by the police.

RCI news has been informed that Mr Vernon Francois has not been sent on leave as is being suggested. Rather, he has taken a six week vacation break, as is customary ahead of the busy Jazz season.

Commissioner Francois is due back on the job in April.
