The St. Lucia Blind Welfare Association is completing plans for two significant observances next month.

Head of the organization Anthony Avril informed that the Blind Welfare association has mapped out a series of activities to for the two observances. Among them he says is World Sight Day which will be observed on October 10th.

Mr Avril notes that this year’s activities will focus on children with multiple disabilities.

The Blind Welfare Association will also mark another global observance on October 15th. According to Mr Avril, International White Cane Day is designated to promote the white cane as a positive means of independence and mobility for people who are blind or have low vision.

International White Cane Day raises awareness of the access needs of people who are blind or have low vision.
