A strong call has been made for the immediate reinstatement of two senior police officers who had been leading investigations into the Lambirds Academy scandal by the opposition.

Suggestions are that Deputy Police Commissioner Frances Henry and Acting Police Commissioner Athanatius Mason who were leading the investigations into the alleged scam have been reassigned to other posts in the RSLPF.

Mr Mason has been sent on administrative leave while Frances Henry has been reassigned to fill the position of ACP Crime in charge of territorial policing.

Deputy leader of the United Workers Party Lennard Spider Montoute says the handling of the Lambird Academy scandal continues to be a great cause for concern and that their removal from this serious criminal investigation may be interpreted as clear interference in the ongoing probe and may very likely be compromising this investigation.

Mr Montoute stressed that the removal of the two key investigators, raises questions and suspicions of a possible cover up.

Mr Montoute says this Thursday May 21, 2015, he intends to highlight what he says is the role of Emma Hippolyte in the Lambird Scandal at a public meeting in Gros Islet . He is also expected to discuss the Cuban Visa fiasco and the economic hardship afflicting most St. Lucians as a result of this Labour administration poor fiscal policies and mismanagement of the country’s economy.
