Mr. Hippolyte Eustace Vitalis has been appointed to serve as St. Lucia's Non-Resident Ambassador to Petro Caribe and ALBA.

That's according to a release from the office of the Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.

It stated that Mr. Vitalis, who is an Agricultural Economist by training, is well versed in both Spanish and Portuguese, having studied in Cuba and Brazil.

His role as Ambassador involves coordinating the operations and activities of the company which will be responsible for Petro Caribe, preparing projects for financing by Petro Caribe and ALBA, as well as providing supervision and overall management of these projects in St. Lucia

Mr. Vitalis will also be tasked with providing policy advice and decision making support to the Prime Minister and Minister with responsibility for Energy on matters pertaining to Petro Caribe and ALBA.
