A video currently in circulation shows  how the Charlie Charlie Challenge comes from a scene in the upcoming movie ‘The Gallows,’ a horror movie that was filmed before this challenge started.

The film is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. on July 10, 2015.

In ‘The Gallows’,  a boy named Charlie is killed in a horrific accident during a small town high school play – “The Gallows”. Years later, students at the school resurrect the failed show in a misguided attempt to honor the anniversary of the tragedy – but a few of the students break in at night to stop the production and soon discover that some things are better left alone for good.
