The local arm of a US based higher learning institution has taken steps to make tuition more accessible to St Lucians.

The news comes from the Head of admissions at Monroe College Mr Neil Nichols, who explained the reason that drove the decision.

He notes that the learning institution has observed that it has become increasingly difficult for prospective students to get access to funding apart from personal loans.

He adds the not for profit college is sensitive to the financial situation.

Meanwhile, the college has also announced that it will soon have a new home.

The move from its current Barnard Hill location is being done in an effort to centralize the college.

Mr Nichols believes that the move will be seen as an incentive for more students to sign up for its degree courses
