A fire which appears to have been deliberately set at the main office door of the St Mary’s College has done little to affect the students or the operations of the school.

According to School Principal Rowan Seon, staff became aware of the situation this morning upon arriving at work this morning.

He says while it appears to be the work of an arsonist, he believes that the intent was not to burglarize the office.

Fortunately he adds that door which has been standing for over a century remained intact, forcing the perpetrator or perpetrators to foil their plans

Mr Seon says what the intruders do not know that there is nothing of value to an intruder is ever left at the office and that the school takes every precaution to safeguard itself and the students from such attacks.

Police and Education officials were immediately notified of the incident and investigations are currently ongoing.
