As the discussion on a ruling by the US supreme Court that makes same sex marriage legal continues here, a religious leader has accused the church of being too soft on the issue.

The trinity Lutheran Church has stated its position in no uncertain terms that it stands opposed to gay unions, citing the principles of the bible as the basis for its strong position.

Pastor Ton Spiegelburg spoke to RCI news earlier today to further explain the rationale for the church’s refusal to accept same sex marriages.

Pastor Speigleburg says while the definition of marriage appears to have changed among different cultures, it remains the same as what obtained from the start of Christianity for the church.

The issue continues to remain a hot topic here.
