One man who was shot by police in the leg on Wednesday last week has been charged with a capital offence.

The incident occurred on Chaussee Rd when Mervin Effrage reportedly opened fire on police.

The grass street man in his twenties was subsequently shot by police and was taken to hospital for treatment. . He was discharged from hospital last week

At the time he was found with a 9mm pistol and ammunition on his person. Effrage appeared before a Magistrates court today and was charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of firearm and ammunition.

He has been remanded to the Bordelais Correctional facility until August 13th for court management
