A tropical wave which moved over St Lucia and other parts of the region has caused some heavy showers, bring a welcomed relief to many people amid drought conditions being experienced here.

The disclosure was made by Met Official Venantius Descartes who informed that while the northern part of the island received the brunt of the weather system, the most active part of the tropical wave is now over.

Weather conditions he adds are expected to gradually improve and things will get back to normal on Thursday.

Mr Descartes has however warned that St Lucians should profit the opportunity to harvest water during the rainy periods, especially as the drought is still on.

St Lucians are advised to continue using water conservation practices during the drought period.
