The St Lucia Civil Service Association and the Government have locked horns again, this time over claims regarding outstanding overtime payments to drivers attached to the Victoria Hospital.

The claim was made on Friday during RCI’s Newsspin program by the CSA’s acting President Wilfred Pierre. He says the monies have been three years past due and the drivers must be paid their wages.

Mr Pierre also issued an ultimatum to the Ministry of Health, noting that the drivers would receive the full support of the CSA in staging protest action on Tuesday if their demands for the past due payments were not met by Monday July 27th .

Mr Pierre believes that the failure of the Ministry of Health to meet its financial obligation to the drivers for such an extended period of time, is because of blatant disregard for lower grade employees.

The Ministry of Health has promised to respond to the claims shortly.
