Some 39 residents of Marigot, Roseau and Jackmel are now more proficient in the areas of cake making, garment making and IT.

They all received their awards of participation in programmes of the National Enrichment Learning Unit or NELU recently at a ceremony put on at the Jackmel Community Center.

Education Officer of NELU Cynthia Polius Prescott in celebrating the achievements of 39 encouraged the graduating participants to embrace their newly found talents to acquire extra income for themselves.

Meantime local businesses are utilizing the programmes of NELU to assist in the enrichment of those within their ranks.

Education Officer District Four Fiona Mayer singled out St. Lucia Distiller Ltd for its funding of the participation of ten of its own employees in the programme.

NELU is preparing for its new term in September, and as a result has called on members of the public, who may be interested in starting one of its programmes, to walk into its offices, located upstairs People’s Discount Drugs, at the corner of St. Louis and Carol Streets to register.
