A public servant who has been accused of breaching the staff orders has reacted to news that efforts are being made by the Public Service Commission to take disciplinary action against her.

Ms Jeana Corneille confirmed receiving a letter from the PSC, after publicly stating her intention to contest the Gros Islet seat for the United Workers Party.

The announcement, she says came after discussions with the Permanent Secretary of the Public Service who was aware of her intentions before it was publicized.

She claims that the discussions were held to seek the advice and counsel of the high level government official and not his permission as is being implied.

Ms Corneille stopped short of stating which staff orders that she has been accused of violating or the contents of the letter that she received.

She would also not state what is at stake.

Ms Corneille says the matter is now in the hands of her legal advisors
