The reviews on activities held on Sunday to mark the observance of International Creole Day are in. Representatives of the various committees say they are pleased with the level of support for the festival as well as the crowd turn out in the four host communities.

In Soufriere, Ms Lookie Albert notes that the quality of the various events held in that town met the expectation of the organizers. She adds that the response from patrons was a welcomed surprise.

Similiar reviews came from the head of the organizing committee in Mon Repos. Mr Glen Cox notes that the commendation from a particular patron was especially heartening.

Creole Day activities were held in Soufriere, Grand Riviere, Mon Repos and Vieux Fort on Sunday. However October 28th marks the official observance of International Creole Day.

Meanwhile, St Lucians in New York were determined not to miss out on creole day festivities even though they are away from home.

The St Lucia Consulate teamed up with the St Lucia House to host a series of activities including talent exhibitions and various other display to celebrate the creole heritage. Consule general in New York Julian DuBois notes that St Lucians in the Diaspora were very enthusiastic about the celebration. Mr DuBois adds that the celebrations presented a good opportunity for St Lucia’s tourism product to gain additional mileage.
