A well known business man who operates from Victoria Street in Castries has expressed frustration over police action that has come at the expense of his business.

Mr Earl Lewis who owns the Cosmopolitan Bar says the action came after authorities were alerted to a potential collapse of an abandoned building along Victoria Street.

He claims that several previous calls made to the relevant authorities about the looming danger appeared to have fallen on deaf ears, until now when the situation has become dire.

Mr Lewis says his is not the only business that stands to lose, because of the precautionary measure employed by police.

The street has been cordoned off since Wednesday night, and according to Mr Lewis, there has been no indication on when it will be reopened.

Derelict buildings in the city have been a cause of major concern for local authorities.
