A visit to storm ravaged Dominica by Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony has given him first-hand experience with the devastation left in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Emily.

According to Dr Anthony who left St Lucia for the nature isle via helicopter on Tuesday, the floodwaters which washed through villages there has left Dominicans counting their losses.

Over four hundred homes were destroyed and seven hundred people displaced as a result. Close to 40 lives were lost in the tragedy.

Dr Anthony says the recovery road will be long and hard for Dominicans.

The Prime Minister returned to St Lucia late Tuesday afternoon. He reiterated a public appeal for food items clothing and water for the victims of Tropical storm Erika.
