A visitor who was here on business has vowed not to return to St Lucia after what he says was the level of injustice handed out to him by a local magistrate.

Mr Andre Joseph says this came after he was brought up on a traffic violation. He claims that he received a ticket on his hired vehicle which was properly parked near the Harmony Suites in Rodney Bay.

The 57 year old professional says there were no street signs or markings to indicate that he has committed a traffic violation, and as a result he decided to contest the matter in court.

But he says the presiding magistrate did not take the circumstances of the sworn statement of his witness into consideration, and instead doubled the fine for the parking penalty.

Mr Joseph says the experience has since soured his impressions of the island and has vowed to take his business elsewhere.

The parking incident occurred on September 12th
