The head of the island`s Police Welfare Association is questioning the legality of measures employed in conducting a recent probe into the operations of the Royal St Lucia Police Force.

At the center of the issue were alleged extra judicial killings which occurred between 2010 and 2011 during Operation Restore Confidence.

The probe was undertaken by personnel from the Caribbean Community Implementation Agency for Crime and Security.

Mr Cameron Laure has asked rhetorically ," if the police are accused by the executive of wrongdoing should it be appointing and supervising investigations."

Mr Laure says that it is on such a basis that the PWA has taken the decision to support its members.

Mr Laure spoke Monday during a mid-morning press conference.
