The Creole language will be the main focus of this year’s observance of International Creole Day which is being observed on October 28th .

This comes after hundreds of St Lucians celebrated their creole cultural heritage on Sunday with the when several communities opened exhibitions of creole cuisine and traditions around the island.

According to the Director at the Folk Research Centre Hilary La Force, the organization is pleased with the growth and strength of the creole culture. He adds that a different aspect of the observance will come to the fore when creole pioneer Earl Huntley delivers a feature address on the language today.

The address by Earl Huntley is expected to air on most radio stations today.
