A Dominican benefit concert continued here on Sunday despite heavy rains and flooding in several parts of St Lucia on Friday.

The concert which had originally been slated for Saturday evening, was postponed because of persistent heavy rains which continued over the weekend.

But On Time Music Group which held the Project Help Dominica benefit concert moved ahead with their plans for the show one day after, with dancehall artist Beenie Man as the headliner.

Speaking before the event, Dance Hall King who hails from Jamaica says he chose to do the concert because Caribbean islands must support each other in times of need.

The dancehall  artiste also expressed sympathy to Dominicans who lost loved ones in the storm.

Sunday’s concert at the Gaiety Car park included performances by Jamacian artiste Razor B, as well as a cast of local artistes including Ezra D’funmachine and Ricky-T.

Attendees were asked to bring canned goods and dry food.

The concert was held to assist Dominicans who suffered losses after tropical storm Erika in August. A total of 20 people died in Tropical Storm Erika
