A desperate father who has been making an aggressive appeal to get custody of his five year old daughter, says the recent death of a minor child at the hands of his step mother has made his situation even more dire.

Mr Colin Hamilton who says he has made several calls on the Family Court and the Department of Human Services for assistance believes that his daughter who is in the custody of the mother is in grave danger.

He fears for the welfare of his daughter, claiming that the child is being taken to the bars where her mother frequents. The man claims that his daughter may have also been a victim of a sexual assault.

The CDC resident says his concern for his daughter has been further heightened following the death of Milan Jn Baptiste who is believed to have died at the hands of his stepmother.

He says the family court has failed to address the custody situation, and has instead referred him to the Department of Human Services. But he says the Director has failed to make the matter a priority

Meanwhile The Director of Human Services Elizabeth Lewis has confirmed that officers are currently investigating the matter but Mr Hamilton has refused to cooperate with a case worker which has been assigned to him.

RCI news has learnt that she has agreed to meet with the man to discuss the situation next week Tuesday
