The former Minister for Urban Renewal has lamented the failure of government to boost the aesthetic appeal of Castries.

This comes in light of several unsavoury reviews, particularly in the tourism sector about poor garbage disposal among other issues.

Mr Frederick who has boasted his development plan for the city during the tenure of the United Workers Party government says there has been no movement on the part of the current administration to make a lasting impression on tourists.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Infrastructure calls on St. Lucians to stop littering.

Mr Phillip Jn Pierre says indiscriminate garbage disposal contributed to the flooding in Castries during heavy rains on Friday November 6th .

He has also commended city council employees for the swift clean up of the city in the aftermath of the flood.

One life was lost in Friday's floods.
