A local sports broadcaster has joined calls for authorities to provide the requisite coaching support to St Lucia’s most decorated athlete as she prepares to take the world stage at the 2016 Olympics.

This comes following what was observed as the visible absence of Levern Spenser’s coach as she competed at the World Championships in Bejing China.

Mr Joseph Reds Pirerra believes that the lack of such support  resulted in a missed opportunity for the St Lucian high jumper to have registered another success. He adds that such a cost should have been covered by the St Lucia Olympics Committee.

Mr Pirerra believes that local sports authorities should not repeat its mistake as athletes prepare for the upcoming Olympics games in Rio. Such a move will allow St Lucia to have the best chance at winning medals at the Olympic games.
