A female employee of Western Union has been held in connection with this week’s armed robbery of the facility at the Bay Walk Mall, well informed sources have told the Times.

The woman is believed to have been arrested this evening and is currently in Police custody, according to reports.

According to the online news outlet a police official has denied that any arrests had been made in connection with the robbery and that it was normal procedure for the police to call in employees of an establishment for questioning once a robbery has occurred.

Police are said to be pursuing the theory that the robbery may have been an inside job according to the Times.

A police statement issued one day after the incident occurred, informed that on Monday, December 7, 2015 about 5:45 p.m. a man known by features entered the Western Union office at Rodney Bay, pointing a firearm at employees and demanding cash.

The perpetrator then left with the sum of EC$ 61,000.00.
