The Royal St. Lucia Police Force received assistance which can significantly change how homicides are investigated in St.Lucia.

Since the closing of the Forensic Lab the police department has been in need of tools to assist with investigations.

On Monday morning during a press conference at Chesterfield headquarters Amalgamated Security Services Ltd of Trinidad and Tobago presented a Forensic kit to the police force.

The kit is valued at 700 U.S. Dollars. The connection to the police force was made through the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police.

The ACCP donates one Forensic kit per year to each of its 25 member countries.

Lab Director for Caribbean Forensic Services Ltd in Trinidad Dr. Maurice Aboud says this contribution helps officers fight crime.

In receiving the kits on behalf of the RSLPF, Saint Lucia’s Crime Chief, Milton Desir says other forms of analyzing evidence are not as reliable as forensic technology.

The representatives of Amalgamated Security Services Ltd have stressed their commitment to working with the Royal St.Lucia Police.
