The founder of the Caribbean Centre for Family and Human Rights Sarah Flood Beaubrun has bemoaned the circulation of the latest viral video that features the vicious beating of a Soufriere teenager.

The video shows a girl who is reportedly fifteen years old being savagely beaten by a group of women. The attack is also being encouraged by onlookers who do nothing to assist or stop the assault.

Mrs Beaubrun who has supported calls for reforms, stressed that there is a critical need for St Lucian laws to be updated in keeping with the cyber age.

She adds that there society also has a moral responsibility to stop and report such incidents.

Mrs Beaubrun has described the incident as unfortunate, denouncing the behaviour of those who were videotaping and egging on the attack.

She has called for strong and decisive action to be taken by police that will send a forceful message of zero tolerance

RCI news has been informed that the teenager being attacked in the video is a high school drop-out who comes from an at risk family
