The possibility of LUCELEC following LIAT’s lead on the removal of fuel surcharge in its billing system will be an agenda item for an upcoming stakeholder meeting.

The concern is being raised as the price of fuel continues on a downward spiral around the world.

The airline announced last week that effective March 1st it will remove the fuel surcharge on all tickets, and members of the public are eager to find out whether the same move will be taken by the electricity company.

But Company Secretary for the General Council Gillian French says the meeting scheduled for Saturday will not discuss such issues. Rather it will take the form of a presentation to shareholders on amendments to the LUCELEC’s bi-laws

French went on to explain the significance of Saturday’s meeting and why it is timely.

Saturday’s meeting will take place at the CSA centre from 9am
