St Lucians can look forward to a bumper weekend of activities as the independence committee hosts a series of events to commemorate the nation’s 37th anniversary.

Among them is a culinary experience which will take place in the form of a seafood and meats festival on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the event Philip Sydney who is a member on the standing committee responsible for logistics says the event is being coordinated by the Fish marketing Corporation.

He says the Lobster and fish festival will include a culinary competition where individuals will be judged for the best tasting dishes.

Another component of the event is a meat competition where participants will only serve local meat.

The event will be driven by various forms of entertainment featuring St Lucian artistes as well as other traditional competitions like the greasy pole and bouncing castles.
