School officials at the one of the island’s prestigious secondary Schools remain tight lipped amid suggestions of fraud and misappropriation of funds at the school.

It is being suggested that the principal and former bursar at the learning institution are at the centre of the investigation.

Sources have informed that a school cheque had been used for the purchase of 56 bags of cement and that the payment was not honoured. It is not clear why the cement was purchased or where the stock went to.

It is also being alleged that the cheque book used to make the purchase is also missing.

A call placed to the school today to speak with school officials did not reap any success in finding additional information on the situation.

RCI news also contacted the Chief Education Officer Marcus Edward for a comment but he informed that he is currently off island and could not provide any information on the matter.

The Principal of the school who was scheduled to return to week has remained off the job.
