The St. Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority has collaborated with French Civil Aviation Association team to improve the efficiency of air traffic control operations.

Twenty-eight traffic control operators completed a weeklong programme in Radar Situational Awareness which began last year and received their certificates on Monday at SLASPA’s headquarters.

Three officials from the French Civil Aviation Authority in Martinique  facilitated the course.

Acting Head of airports department Mr.Lambert Remy says the new systems along with the training for the programme will increase accuracy in traffic control operations.

Mr. Remy says the trainees were excited about the training from the start of the programme.
