The President of the St Lucia Cricket Association Julian Charles has expressed surprise at the damning statements made by West Indies T20 Captain following its victory against England in Sunday’s finals.

Julian Charles says Darren Sammy’s scathing criticism of the WICB was inappropriate and untimely given the setting that Sammy and the West Indies team were in at the time.

In referring to Sammy as the Blue eyed boy of West Indies Cricket, Charles observed that the behaviour displayed on Sunday was an absence from what normally obtains with the Captain as he is one of the most loved cricketers by the WICB.

As far as he is concerned, Charles says every opportunity is given to the players to hash out their differences with the board internally.

Charles has however congratulated the team on their triple victory in the T20 format of the game.
Charles has described the situation as a bitter sweet moment for the West Indies.
