A well known St. Lucian reggae artiste leads the charge in an attempt to eliminate a festering problem within the St.Lucian society.

Stray dogs and cats can be seen on St. Lucian streets almost as often as people. Roots Reggae artiste Taj Weekes founded the TOCO organization (They often cry outreach).

Mr. Weekes says he started spay and neuter initiative to reduce the breeding of stray cat and dogs around the island.

Mr. Weekes says the organization is tackling this issue gradually.

The event is taking place until Thursday April 7th from 9am-3:30pm in Bean Field Vieux Fort downstairs lab service and next to Vieux fort South constituency council.

Last year the TOCO foundations spay and neutered 400 cats and dogs in Castries and Soufriere.
