Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 33 year old, Nathan Chassang also known as “Shawn” of Monchy, Gros-Islet.

According to reports, Chassang allegedly consumed a poisonous substance on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 about 5:00 p.m. at the Monchy Beach after allegedly stabbing his common law partner, Davia Hippolyte in Monchy earlier that day.

He was transported to the Victoria Hospital where he subsequently died.

Davia Hippolyte was transported to the Victoria Hospital where she is listed as being in stable condition.  

Investigations continue into this matter.   

The Ministry of Health has extended condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Dr. Andrew Richardson who passed away on Sunday April 17th, 2016.

The deceased commenced the provision of services as a General Surgeon at the Victoria Hospital from September 5th, 1988 until June 30th, 2012.

He provided patient oriented, exemplary service to his clients on the surgical ward during his tour of duty. He was a dedicated and professional doctor. His gentle manner and reassuring demeanor gained him the respect of all his colleagues and patients. He was an incredible inspiration to all he encountered.

Dr. Richardson was regarded as a team player and his sense of humour and affable nature was well appreciated by his colleagues.

A 69-year-old woman is currently nursing her injuries at the Victoria Hospital due to a vehicular accident Thursday morning.

According to officials at the St.Lucia Fire Service , Patrica Louis was hit by a car between 7 and 7:30am in the parking lot of the La Clery Super J Supermarket.

Witnesses say a young man driving a silver car hit the woman while attempting to turn into the parking lot.

Another witness also claims that he was almost hit while trying to help the accident victim.

A vendor ,who operates near the supermarket along with the victim , says that she was fearful that an accident of this nature would occur at some point.

Ms.Louis sustained an injury to her leg as well as bruises to her face and other parts of her body.
