The curtains came down on the ten day St Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival on Sunday, with organizers applauding the success of the 25th edition of the event.

It took place at the Pigeon Island national Landmark with Latin megastar Mark Anthony headlining the show. But this was not before the hosting of several other fringe concerts surrounding the main stage event in several communities around the island.

Public Relations Manager at the St Lucia Tourist Board John Emmanuel says while the main events in the Jazz Festival have been held, the musical extravaganza is not done yet. He says patrons can look forward to the last lap in Vieux Fort.

Emmanuel has also addressed some of the reviews following the Jazz events. While some members of the public have given it the thumbs up several others have disagreed. The PRO at the SLTB says the reviews are relative depending on preferences.

Meanwhile the carnival season has opened unofficially now that the jazz festival has ended. John Emmanuel has addressed calls about the role of the SLTB in marketing the event. He says it is up to the challenge while supporting the Festivals Commission which has given that mandate.
