The resignation of Vice President on the Media Association of St Lucia was among top agenda items discussed at an extraordinary meeting last Sunday.

The resignation comes following suggestions that the Media Association of Saint Lucia (MASL) has pledged to increase its engagement of membership in the coming months leading up to the election of a new executive in 2016.

Other conclusions coming out of the organization’s May 15, 2016 extraordinary meeting were challenges that affect media workers in the conduct of their duties, a media recognition ceremony due in 2016 and elections of a new executive. One of the main concerns was the level of involvement of members in the association. Consequently, the MASL will in the next few months focus on encouraging the involvement of media workers from all spheres, in the association so that they can properly engage with upcoming processes.

The MASL continues to work to situate itself to properly serve its membership and keep abreast of developments on the media landscape.
