The Department of Probation and Parole is this year ensuring that fathers of difficult youth, feel special and appreciated on the occasion of Father’s Day and beyond.

This comes ahead of the global observance of Fathers Day which will be celebrated here on Sunday.

As part of the observance a Health Talk has been scheduled to engage a select group of fathers on June 17th They will discuss ways and means of taking care of their personal health.

A free service of blood pressure checks will also be available on that day.
The Department is also going one step further to host a social session for men on the following Friday, June 24, 2016. The informal gathering will take the form of a Domino-rama with a unique feature.

The fathers will be socializing with professional males who will share their expertise in a number of areas, including Domestic Violence, Child Rearing and Anger Management to name a few issues.

According to Mrs. Louis, this informal setting with other males has a very serious objective behind it, geared at enabling men to open up about their issues and feelings.  Experts will be on hand to address their concerns, and to provide guidance of parenting issues.
