An official from (ECTEL) Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority says the organization is currently working with telecommunications service providers to push for better pricing and services for consumers.

Imbert Charles managing director of ECTEL, spoke about the current initiatives currently being implemented within the regulatory body. He spoke about the organization with RCI News prior to an OECS Ecumenical service which took place on Wednesday morning at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Imbert Charles says there is a National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC) office in each of the member states within the organization which helps ECTEL stronger visibility for Commission.

Charles says NTRC has taken steps to regulate telecommunications pricing.

(ECTEL) was established in May 2000 within the Eastern Caribbean States of Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
