The National Security Minister addressed the recent threat of ISIS in the Caribbean

ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) Terrorist group is aiming to rule various territories through force and violence, which has caused countries observing the region to become cautious about the possible threat from the organization.

The scare of ISIS has reached St.Lucian shores which was triggered by the recent alert sent out from Martinique on Thursday.

St.Lucian authorities were contacted when suspected Moroccan terrorist, Rachid Rafaa, escaped house arrest in neighbouring Martinique.

Rafaa was accused of being an important member of Al-Qaïda which has been rebranded as ISIS.

Senator and National Security Minister Hermangild Francis says ISIS does pose a serious threat to the region.
