As St Lucians get set to observe and celebrate Creole heritage Month in October, one of the host communities in this year’s event has hit the ground running well before the official opening of the cultural event.

Speaking on the preparations, Public Relations Officer on the Choiseul Creole Committee Lovely St Aimee Joseph revealed that the event opens with a launch that is slated for Saturday at the village Square.

She notes that it will feature the strengths of the community including a showcase of craft and talent in addition to rich local cuisine.

St Aimee Joseph also highlights efforts being made by the committee to promote youth involvement and participation in the cultural event.

She adds that a number of events have been planned leading up to the finale in October.

Journen Kweyol celebrations will be held on October 28
