The Indian community in St Lucia is gearing up for the staging of another cultural event to highlight the culture and heritage on the weekend.

A series of cultural events have been taking place at various locations around the island that take place in the form of a celebration of Indian food and traditions.

President of the Indian Heritage Association of St Lucia Keith Compton says this time the celebration moves to Marigot where people of Indian descent will gather to embrace the richness of their heritage.

Compton says since its inception the organization has been successfully making inroads in highlighting the Indian heritage here. He points to his involvement in the Locally produced film “Who are You” to illustrate the recognition given to the Indian community for its contribution to the St Lucian society.
