A Women and Child Rights Activist has accused local police of practicing a double standard when it comes to the issue of revenge porn.

Catherine Sealys says she immediately contacted local authorities when she was informed that a young woman had been arrested and incarcerated for two days in connection with extortion of a government minister and exposing nude images of Dr Ubaldus Raymond on social media without his consent.

Sealys believes that the swift response of police in this case demonstrates a gross imbalance in how they have dealt with attempts by men to shame women.

Sealys describes as an indictment on government, its failure to have amended local laws and to put legislation in place to deal specifically with cyber crimes of a sexual nature.

Meanwhile Sealys has issued a challenge to Police Commissioner Severin Moncherry to address the matter before the weekend.
