As part of its capacity building development program, the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation SRDF, concluded a three day certified training seminar for security and wardens.

The objective of the exercise was to better furnish the participants to execute their duties efficiently and productively.

The training focused on key areas such as basic security procedures, report writing and customer service. It was facilitated by Corporal Marvin Herman and assisted by Sylvester Darcheville, Administrative Sergeant attached to the Soufriere Police Station.

Corporate Communications Officer at the Soufriere regional Development Foundation Lester Cazaubon says the initiative was significant given that the organization manages the world heritage site and the customers are from international shores. He adds that security is a critical component for the trainees.

A total of Twenty six (26) individuals; fifteen (15) new potential recruits and eleven (11) employees, were fortunate to attend the seminar. Of the eleven new potential recruits, eight (8) will be offered immediate full time employment.

A ceremony was held on Wednesday Feb 1st, 2017 to close off the training with certificates presented to acknowledge the successful completion of the curriculum.

The training was held at the Leisure Inn Conference Room.
